Also remember, the stories you are broadcasting are true stories!! The interviewer will need to make up the interview questions for their story of course, but the story itself should be real. In your story, remember to answer: -5 Ws and 1H -Have an exciting lead to the story -Have a transition from the previous reporter and to the next reporter -Easy to understand language for the audience to understand Use the checklist from 11/13 - 11/17 to help you plan your story. Please share your group folder with each story on google docs with Mr. Jost. He will try edit them before you create your final broadcast. We will begin using easyprompter.com on 2 weeks from today. 1. Watch the Obama with Bill O'Reilly and Ellen on youtube. 2. Interview a person or be interviewed. 3. Send your interview WITH ANSWERS to Mr. Jost by the end of class. Today: You will be given the role of the journalist or the source. You will choose between three pretend stories and will have to come up with at least 10 questions and answers with your partner. Journalist- Do research on the topic. Ask questions that will get thoughtful answers. Be sure to figure out the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY and HOW of the story. Source- Be the expert. Give answers that help explain the situation. Pretend Stories (Pick 1. You get to choose who is being interviewed. Eyewitness? Local expert? These are FAKE stories. You and your partner will write 10 questions and 10 answers.) Example Choose One: -The Detroit Zoo had a fence collapse during a recent storm, and their famous cheetah, Speedy, was seen near Swartz Creek, MI. -Local singer from Flint, MI is chosen as a finalist for the show "America's Got Talent." -Genesee Academy graduate signs to join the Michigan State Spartan basketball team in the 2016-2017 season. Google Search Techniques: Believe it or not Thomas Edison once said, “To have a great idea is to have a lot of them.” One of the most famous logos currently in use is the google watermark. Its simplicity makes it recognizable around the world. On special events, google will change their homepage to imitate historic events or to recognize famous people. Please check out this page of recent google illustrations. Please comment on this message and tell me your favorite google doodle. Today, you will be competing in a google doodle battle. Before we begin, we are going to brainstorm together. Last year, google had a contest called Doodle 4 Google where students had to design a google doodle based on the theme “What I See For The Future.” You can see the winners and runners-up from the previous contest here. You can draw about any theme you wish for my class. 8A and 8B must only use digital media (paint, google drawings, etc). You must draw in pencil to begin. Use the template to help, but do not feel like the google has to be the same on your final draft. You can also create one using computer graphics. At the end of the allotted time, I will upload them to the current GAtech work page and we will be voting next week on the google doodle winner! Upload into a PDF editor or Paint and circle the hidden words. Everyone cares about their reputation, but many students don’t know that what they do online can impact their digital footprint, permanently. In this lesson students will continue learning about the rights and responsibilities they have as digital citizens, and gain awareness of steps they can take to be safe and secure, and be empowered to make smart choices in order to remain InCtrl of their digital reputation!
